Nicole and William's Baughman Center wedding was intimate and vintage affair located in the heart of Gainesville, Florida by the University of Florida. As a Gainesville, Fl photographer, this is one of my favorite venues.

The two were both born and raised in Florida but moved to New York City to pursue and further their acting careers. Paying homage to their upbringing, they chose to celebrate their union at the Baughman Center, a venue filled with a historic and unique architectural design that blended perfectly with their vintage aesthetic.

Baughman Center Wedding Ceremony

Their summer wedding was an intimate event filled with their closest family and friends. As a non-traditional, theater couple from out of state, Nicole arrived early to practice her entrance with her parents while William orchestrated everyone’s placement on stage. As the ceremony began, the music started and Nicole entered the room with her parents beside her, the room was filled with joy. They shared personal vows of commitment and shared amusing memories everyone enjoyed. It was truly more than a ceremony, but a delightful experience of union.

Vintage Vibes, Untraditional Touches, and the Alpin Bistro

Nicole is a lover of all things vintage and included several unique pieces for her wedding attire. Her dress, crown, and jewelry were all special vintage finds. Their color palette was inspired by hydrangea flowers, of soft blue, lavender, sage green and cream. Nicole wanted a special moment with her maid of honor and decided to capture a first look with her best friend since the age of two. William chose to have a Best Person to stand by his side, someone he met through his acting career. It was easy to tell, that every element and person was thoughtfully selected to join in their celebration.

After the ceremony the couple took photos with their families and friends, and then stayed behind for a few husband and wife portraits. It was important to them to capture more than just poses, but their true nature. So after warming up with a few easy prompts we headed to the Alpin Bistro for their reception dinner. There we planned to take a few more photos of just the two of them in the restaurant's outdoor courtyard as well as the downtown streets. The warm up photos did the trick, because these two easily forgot they were taking phots and got comfortable just spending a few intimate moments together.

The editorial take...

As a lover of natural light photography, the Baughman Center's floor to ceilings walls surrounding the entire venue, are one of my favorite features to this unique space. I'm so thrilled the couple found me through a Facebook recommendation and hired me for my editorial photography and use of colors in my imagery. It was truly an honor to document such a personalized and intimate wedding.
