From the moment you walk up the stairs of this historic Gainesville wedding venue and open the majestic double doors of the 1908 Grand, you are met with a grandious welcome. I had the pleasure of touring this beautiful historic two story venue with Kaitlyn, the Director of Events. Come with me as we look into the unique features of this one-of-a-kind venue in Historical Downtown Gainesville, Florida and possibly find the perfect venue for your wedding or next event!
History meets modern
One of the unique features of 1908 Grand is all the historical charm with renovated modern enhancements. As you walk into the Foyer, you are met with a beautiful staircase, and overhead a grand chandelier. The Foyer leads you to the downstairs cocktail hour hall that can also be used as a backup ceremony space in case of inclement weather. This even room features original hardwood floors, vintage chandeliers, and gorgeous natural light flooding.
The Ceremony Terrace is a beautiful paved space with a privacy fence, twinkle lights and large enough for multiple option set ups. This outdoor space can also be used as a spacious cocktail hour or intimate event space.
The venue allows outside catering and can even recommend their favorites. When you book your wedding, you will have the venue all to yourself with no concern of another wedding taking place on the same day. The average hourly rental is 6 hours.
Upstairs Ballroom
As you walk up the double staircase, you can't help to notice the historic charm of the vintage windows and doorways. Step into the main ballroom to a grand room surrounded by windows, a sparkling chandeliers, and a main stage area. This ballroom has modern features as well including a built in backlit bar and a private DJ booth.
Getting ready spaces
The attention to detail in these spaces is a tribute to the care and experience this venue bestows. Get ready in style and luxury with velvet chairs and individual mirrors as well as a glamorous sitting area. The bridal suite is complete with a washroom perfect for keeping everyone is one space. The groom's room located upstairs away from the bridal suite, is a great space to sit back and relax, watch tv or have a drink at the bar.
